Jabiroo Personalised Travel Design.
Connecting personal travel preferences with expert curation.
Jabiroo was an early travel-design platform offering personalised itineraries based on taste, budget, time and travel habits rather than standard tour packages. We designed its UX/UI, turning a complex preference-gathering process into a clear, enjoyable web experience.

Need.
A personalised itinerary requires extensive information: destination, accommodation expectations, budget, food preferences, travel pace and interests.
The central UX challenge was gathering enough meaningful information for travel curators without making a detailed form feel like an exhausting survey.

Service benefits and user feedback
Turning complex preferences into a clear journey.
Instead of one long form, we created a logical sequence of choices. Travellers define trip length, budget, interests, accommodation preferences and personal expectations step by step.
Visible progress, simple questions and visual choices made data collection easier to understand. The homepage’s ‘three simple steps’ explains the service immediately: choose a duration, share preferences and budgets, then let the travel designers begin. The flow gathers detailed information without making the experience feel heavy.

Personal itinerary
Bringing human curation into a digital product.
Jabiroo offered more than an automatically generated route. Travel curators interpreted users’ answers to prepare personal programmes of hotels, restaurants, experiences and itineraries.
We made this human contribution visible in the interface. Service packages, example itineraries and descriptions of the team’s expertise show that the result is a complete, personally designed travel plan rather than a generic list.
A page introducing travel designers through photographs, expertise and personal stories builds trust by showing the people behind the service. Customer reviews provide further evidence of its value.

Travel design process
Making the service model clear.
We simplified the experience into three steps: choose a travel-design package, share preferences in a detailed questionnaire and receive a personalised programme from expert curators. Comparable package durations and inclusions support the purchase decision.
The payment screen clearly summarises the chosen package’s duration, scope and total price. Account, billing, promotional and card details follow a controlled hierarchy. A reassuring, practical checkout completes an experience that begins with editorial storytelling and travel inspiration.

Jabiroo Blog
Turning a personal itinerary into a living guide.
We presented itineraries as more than long text documents. City-by-city and day-by-day plans became visual timelines covering accommodation, restaurants, activities, nightlife and transport.
On desktop and mobile, day selection, maps, flights, transfers, hotels and venue recommendations appear in connected, scannable content blocks. Travellers can review the whole plan before departure and quickly find the relevant day or detail while travelling.

Payment
A visual language with the feel of a travel journal.
To reinforce the personalised service, we moved away from conventional booking-site aesthetics. Paper textures, Polaroid-style photographs, hand-drawn routes and travel icons, coral accents and editorial typography evoke a travel journal prepared for the individual.
The blog uses large destination photographs and a magazine-style layout. Travel, food, activity and destination articles provide inspiration and a natural introduction to the personalised travel-design service.
