Türkiye Gazetesi.
A calmer, more readable experience for a busy news cycle.
We redesigned Türkiye Gazetesi’s website and app around its editorial voice and readers. Sharing a media group and technical foundation with TGRT Haber, it received a distinct, simpler and more text-focused experience reflecting the newspaper’s character.

Need.
Türkiye Gazetesi and TGRT Haber share an ecosystem but differ in voice, presentation and reading habits. Türkiye Gazetesi needed a calmer, organised, reading-led structure spanning breaking news, video, columnists and categories.
The challenge was consistency across desktop web, mobile web, iOS and Android while benefiting from shared infrastructure without making the brands look alike.
Design approach.
A strong but restrained hierarchy organises the homepage. White space, fine dividers and limited red accents create a scannable rhythm between headlines, breaking news, categories and writers. The recognised logo and editorial character remain central.
Video, articles, categories such as motoring, and columnists use distinct content patterns. Shared typography, colours and grids maintain consistency while adapting priorities to each format.
Mobile was reorganised for quick scanning and uninterrupted reading, not simply reduced from desktop. The homepage, articles, categories and writers were each considered in their mobile context.

Shared infrastructure, distinct editorial identity.
The shared mobile foundation for the TGRT group allows core functions to be reused. Shared infrastructure does not mean shared appearance: Türkiye Gazetesi’s interface was designed around its own visuals, content balance and readers.
The two products remain distinct despite their common technical base. TGRT Haber retains its fast-paced breaking-news character; Türkiye Gazetesi remains calmer and reading-focused.

The work.
The complete publishing experience connects web, mobile web, iOS and Android through one design system. We handled architecture and UX/UI, developing and delivering the app on the React Native foundation shared with TGRT Haber.
We worked with Türkiye Gazetesi and other group teams, alongside the software partner developing the web back end.
