NavOne Flight Operations Tablet App.
Putting critical flight operations at pilots’ fingertips.
NavOne was developed by our direct client, Freebird Airlines, for its flight crews. It brings the operational information and tasks needed before and during flight into one tablet app. We redesigned processes previously spread across sources, documents and tools as a shared experience.

Route & weather
Need.
Flight operations span route and weather data, crew information, ground handling, NOTAMs, flight-plan acceptance and navlog records. Users needed quick access to dense information, confidence that they were working in the correct flight context and accurate task completion under changing field conditions.
Some existing screens were developer interfaces or early product versions. The goal went beyond a visual refresh: NavOne needed a consistent, credible experience ready to be offered to other airlines.
Design approach.
We rebuilt the architecture around pilots’ operational sequence. Active-flight selection anchors the app, with IFM, route and weather, crew, passengers, ground handling, weather alerts, NOTAMs, documents, flight-plan acceptance and navlog sharing one navigation system.
A dark interface supports prolonged use in cabin and cockpit environments. Blue, green, orange and red distinguish active, completed, pending and attention-required states. Typography, spacing, cards and clear status indicators establish priorities on dense screens.

Flight plan acceptance
Aviation-specific user experience.
We went beyond generic interface patterns. Custom numerical and alphanumeric keyboards adapt to relevant values and abbreviations, making in-flight entry easier. Flight-type choices, quick notes and large touch controls remove unnecessary keys and steps.
Pilots can compare planned and actual values in context and record changes in fuel, altitude, time, route and weather. Clear status messages and verification indicators support critical approvals.
The entire flight in one flow.
The app connects flight plans and dispatch notes with departure and arrival weather, crew, passengers and ground handling. NOTAMs can be reviewed by airport, while flight plans, route maps, vertical profiles and weather documents are available within the app.
The navlog organises waypoints alongside planned and actual altitude, time, fuel, wind and temperature. Preparation, acceptance, monitoring and recording share one product language.

Outcome.
We turned NavOne from a collection of technical screens into a complete flight-operations product designed around pilots’ working conditions. The experience translates Freebird Airlines’ operational knowledge into a polished digital product that can be offered to other airlines.
The project was completed and delivered. NavOne was one of the more extensive products in the aviation family we designed for Freebird Airlines during that period.
