FBN Internship Program.

A digital platform connecting family businesses worldwide with the next generation of leaders.

We designed and developed a comprehensive web platform for Family Business Network’s international internship programme. It explains the programme’s value to interns and host family businesses, brings together courses and events, and guides visitors towards applications. After launch, we hosted and maintained the site on our own servers for many years.

Program.

Learning across borders for the next generation of family businesses.

FBN Internship Program connected young Family Business Network members with family businesses around the world. Beyond conventional work experience, it let participants understand another family business’s culture, values and transfer of knowledge between generations.

The platform needed to speak to young people seeking internships and families interested in hosting them. Their motivations and benefits differed, so we created distinct, clear user journeys within a shared programme story.

Need.

Communicating trust, international reach and mutual value.

FBN’s private, trust-based network of family businesses was the programme’s defining feature. The website needed to reflect that trust while using an open, energetic and approachable language that would engage young people from different countries.

The main goals were to explain how the programme works, show its benefits for hosts and interns, build confidence through past experiences and guide visitors to the right application route.

Information architecture.

Two audiences, one shared journey.

The homepage opens with the programme’s central promise and makes its scale and participation visible. Separate sections explain the benefits for host businesses and interns, supported by first-hand accounts and success stories.

Courses and upcoming events show that the internship extends beyond workplace tasks into learning and an international community. News and videos reflect an active programme, while application prompts throughout the page guide visitors to their next step.

Design approach.

Corporate credibility with a young, international energy.

Large photographs of real participants and events bring out the programme’s human, experience-led side. Warm photography, circular indicators and clear content blocks balance the predominantly blue corporate palette.

A modular card system for benefits, courses, events and news gives varied content a shared visual language. The responsive layout breaks the detailed programme story into sections that remain easy to follow on mobile.

Development and long-term support.

From design to launch, hosting to maintenance.

Alongside information architecture and UX/UI, we handled front-end development, the content management system and launch. A flexible CMS lets the programme team manage courses, events, news and other current content.

After delivery, we hosted the site on our own servers for many years and provided maintenance, updates and continuity. The platform was built to support changing content needs long after launch.

Outcome.

The result brings trust, learning and cross-cultural experience into one comprehensive website. Distinct value propositions for interns and host family businesses turn programme discovery into a clear path towards application.
